John Hunter – Operations Manager
John came to California in 2005 from Colorado Springs CO. John has over 12 years’ experience in all aspects of Recovery Home administration and brings nearly 30 years business experience with a national food chain. John also has an AA degree in business from Blair Business College. A family man, John and his wife Regina have five children and thirteen grandchildren to whom they are deeply committed. John is very active in the Orange County sober community and believes deeply in the process of spiritual recovery. He John loves to work with people new to recovery and brings that love to Turning Point Treatment Center residents.
Ian Ashby CADC-ll Counselor – Program Director of Intensive Outpatient Program
Ian is a native of Huntington Beach, Ca. Ian has been working in the substance abuse field since 2012. Ian has experience as lead case manager, overseeing quality assurance, billing, developing programming curriculum’s, supervision of staff as well as clinical training’s and program management.
As IOP Director, Ian is responsible for crisis management, one-on-one client counseling sessions, facilitating psycho-educational group and overseeing the entire outpatient Turning Point Treatment Center program. Ian is a Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor who has earned his CADC II. Ian has a sobriety date from 2008 and has overcome his own struggles. His life experiences combined with clinical expertise enables Ian to relate to his clientele with empathy and professionalism. Ian is passionate and demonstrates the knowledge to meet each client where they are at individually developing a plan ensuring the highest level of client care is adhered to.
Ian has found his life’s purpose in helping other people with their own personal journey in recovery.
Mike Torricelli – Interventionist
Experienced Interventionist with a demonstrated history of working in the health wellness and fitness industry. Over 700 successful interventions facilitated. Coaching, Crisis Intervention, Family Therapy, and Case Management. Strong community and social services professional with a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) focused in Business Administration and Management, General from San Diego State University-California State University.
Sierra Flynn CATC-i IOP Lead Case Manager
Substance abuse industry experience – 4 years as CATC-i. Asociates degree in Sociology and a Substance Abuse Certification from California State University Fullerton. I have participated in 3 clinical internships within the last year per my education. My bachelors in the science of human services with an emphasis in mental health and substance abuse will be completed in December of this year. I start my doctoral program (in psychology) in January of 2020 at Alliant International University in Irvine. I have been awarded a total of 3 scholarships within the last year for my academic achievement (Michelle’s Place Scholarship, Dr. Sandra Russel Group Leadership Award, and Timothy S. Ray Scholarship). I have maintained a 4.0 throughout my college career, and I have been on the dean’s list, presidents list, and honor roll through the duration of my education. I am also president of CSUF’s Substance Abuse Awareness and Prevention Student Association.

Patricia Otsuji CADC-ll Counselor / Detox Residential Home
Patricia has worked with Adult, and Adolescents providing education into the disease concept of addiction, through Educational groups, one on one sessions with clients and families. Patricia is knowledgeable in Cognitive Behavioral therapy and uses that skill to educate clients about Distorted thinking, and changing negative thinking.
Patricia is in recovery, with twenty four years clean, she understands how important support is for the recovery process and change to happen. Through the years she has continued to maintain education in the new modalities of recovery, i.e. SMART recovery, Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous and Celebrate recovery. Patricia understands that there is a need for other types of support due to addicts and alcoholics who have raised the bar of their “bottom,” and others who find difference in the 12 step approach, and need to find another way.
Patricia also has a desire to help in the Epidemic of death caused by overdoses and Fentanyl .
Warren Taff, MD, MPH Turning Point Consulting Medical Director & Psychiatrist
Dr. Taff is a Board Certified Psychiatrist who is the highest level expert on addiction and mental health issues. Dr. Taff completed his residency at USC/LA County Hospital and later served as a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at USC.
Dr. Taff has a distinguished career both in private practice and as the medical director of numerous mental health and addiction treatment centers including College Hospital, Western Behavioral Systems, and more.
In addition to his medical degree, Dr. Taff also holds a Masters in Public Health from UCLA. He is truly a caring man whose life mission is to provide the very best of addiction and mental health care for everyone.
