Court Liaison and Jail Assessments
At Turning Point Treatment Center, we offer jail assessments and a court liaison to facilitate the process.
Our court liaison will make an appeal to the court on behalf of the client to present treatment as an alternative to jail time.
Then, during the jail assessment phase, a Turning Point staff member will interview the potential client to assess their level of appropriateness for treatment. This assessment will include a thorough history of both addiction and legal issues as well as any relevant family history. Turning Point will also assess the level of willingness the client exhibits for treatment. In order for treatment to be a viable alternative to jail time, clients must be willing to engage in the treatment process.
Jail Pick Ups
If treatment is approved as an alternative to jail time, Turning Point will arrange transportation from the jail to our facilities. We will partner with the client, attorney and any necessary judicial contacts to ensure that the process is compliant with all laws and the conditions of the client’s sentencing.
Our goal is to help clients that are struggling with addiction to avoid jail time by offering them an alternative that will help them to better their lives. Offering treatment as an alternative to jail time also helps to reduce jail overcrowding and allows offenders the chance to avoid spending time behind bars.
Note: any client who fails to comply with requirements or fails to fulfill the court sentence will be reported immediately to the appropriate agencies with a treatment team recommendation.
